Bio
Kamil Bartnik is a freelance drummer, educator, and musical director based in SW London. With over a decade of experience spanning studio recordings, international tours, and teaching, Kamil has built a reputation as a dynamic musician who thrives in diverse musical settings.
A graduate with First Class Honours from the Academy of Contemporary Music, Kamil refined his craft with renowned drummers Ralph Salmins, Pete Riley, and Richard Brook. His versatility has led to collaborations with artists such as Dani Sylvia, James Bourne (Busted), and Pale Waves, with performances ranging from intimate clubs to the grandeur of London’s West End.
A major highlight of Kamil’s career has been his work with The Rock Orchestra. As a drummer and musical director, he has toured extensively across the UK, Europe, and the USA, captivating audiences with high-energy performances all whilst programming and running playback systems for seamless live shows. His technical expertise in playback has also supported other artists, showcasing his adaptability and precision.
In addition to drumming, Kamil has directed various London-based projects, honing his skills in arrangement and leadership. Teaching remains a cornerstone of his career, with over ten years of experience inspiring students of all ages through one-to-one lessons. He co-authored the educational book Drums At The Front with Pete Ray Biggin, underlining his dedication to nurturing the next generation of musicians.
Whether behind the kit, in the studio, or programming playback, Kamil’s passion for music and commitment to his craft shine through. He continues to embrace new challenges and projects, always striving to expand his horizons and empower others to do the same.

Lessons
I offer private drum tuition in SW London to students who are keen on getting started, or for more advanced players who wish to push themselves musically.
Lessons are independently tailored to each student to maximise progress, whilst being delivered in a fun, relaxed and inspiring manor. Whether you’re an absolute beginner, have moderate skills being the kit, or are more advanced, I can ensure that progress will be made whilst unlocking your full potential.
Over the years I have gained a lot of experience teaching younger ages and as such I have really good methods that will get your child playing basic rhythms and beats along to their favourite songs in no time!
Students will also be given various print-outs and MP3's so they can continue learning between lessons.
Enhanced DBS checked, and I’ve complete various Child Safeguarding Courses over the years for previous employers.
All aspects of drumming are covered, so whether you’re just starting out, or have specific things you’d like to focus on, I’ve got you covered. Here’s a brief list of the things we’ll work on:

Basic coordination

Playing along to songs, understating the importance of timing and using your own ear to clearly hear what the drums are playing

Fun fills and patterns around the kit

Exploration of a variety of music styles including jazz, rock, latin, funk, pop, metal etc

Preparation for graded exams (Rockschool, Trinity Rock & Pop etc, Grades 1 - 8) should you wish to do this
